Year-End Letter from IR club President - 2021

With little over 2 weeks until the end of the year, I would like to reflect on our achievements and successful initiatives for this year. Some of which I wanted to share with you, in my second year as the President of the IR club Switzerland.

In the year of 2021, we had a few ‘firsts’ for the IR club Switzerland namely that we launched our first Professional Development & Training page on our website. This is an excellent opportunity for our younger members who are entering the IR profession to take advantage of the global expertise and courses at discounted rates.

An idea that was born as a result of hosting all our events on a virtual basis last year was to try and expand into the regions for small and informal networking meetings. I am delighted to report that we hosted our first catCH-up Regional Chapter in Berne, and we will continue to expand this to other regions next year.

In November, we hosted our first and only in person event this year, the tradtional Chlaushöck. It was great to finally meet everyone in person, exchange ideas and get to know each other. Hopefully we can overachieve on this in 2022.

This year was also the first year we had our Gold and Silver partnerships in place. We will continue to work together with our partners to provide you with insights, tools, and advice as we all navigate the IR journey together across a variety of topics and challenges that we are facing.

We achieved another first with our membership now expanding to over 80 members in total. We welcome all our new members to the IR club Switzerland and look forward to getting to know you in 2022.

Lastly, as we look ahead to next year, it is an Anniversary year for the IR club Switzerland, as we will be turning 30 years old in 2022. Stay tuned for lots of announcements and events, which we are planning together with the Board.

I would like to wish you all a very happy holiday period. Stay safe and I hope that you can enjoy time with family and friends to refresh and re-charge. I look forward to celebrating our 30th Birthday together with you all next year.
