It’s been building to a crescendo for a few years now. Asset managers (especially those guiding passive portfolios) are attaching tangible value to board diversity, and keying more of their proxy voting decisions to whether board composition is sufficiently heterogenous to lead companies in challenging and uncertain economic conditions.
